it is sunday night and i have been at the studio since 2:30 this afternoon. I've been working on completing my menu for milton glaser's class. we have to create the entrees and then design a menu for the restaurant that we started to concept last week. my restaurant is one that my friends will hopefully start up in milwaukee so they have given me their menu. I jazzed up some of the writting, added some new dishes and subtracted others, and changed some of the prices. Then I spent a good two or so hours type setting it. I like the way it looks, but i am tired. Tomorrow i will print it onto the paper that i picked out and start working on my assignment do on tuesday.

For tuesday, we need our package designed for our free product. we have to find something that is free and package so people will buy it. I choose a stone which i am packaging as a weapon. the outside is totally tongue-in-cheek about how various nations use it and how convinent it is. the inside of the box will be covered with facts about stoning in other countries and other stoning statistics. then there will information about how part of the proceeds from the product will go to amesity interenational to help stop stoning in various countries.

my cd design class went well. sagmeister didn't kill what i did and give me advice on how to continue on with the project. i shot a bunch of images for it last night with becky and matt. i think some will work, but i have to shoot more this week with my classmate lauren.

for my book class, we have to pick five objects and think about renaming them something they are not. ie-cigarettee could become: pollution, addiction, etc. then we have to layout the names and the objects in a book form. it is due in two weeks.

had Laurene Boym coming and speak this week. her and her husband run Boym Partners, a industrial design firm that designs everything from furniture to rugs to light to kitchen utencils. good talk. beautiful work. new book out by them called Curious Boym. check it out.

been listening to Neutral Milk Hotel endlessly for the past three days. i forgot how great this album is. didn't listen to it much when i first got it. i was depressed and it just made me more sad. now, i can see it again as the beautiful album that i had fallen in love with years and years ago. thank chris for picking this cd for our music design class so i could find it again.

now, time to go home and work out in my tiny room high in the sky perched above the park in the large city.
