i am in NYC city now. i have traded a slightly smaller city for a larger one, but i don't think NY can take the place chicago has in my heart. i am and always be a chicago girl no matter where i live or what i do during my lifetime.

highlights of the move and journey to NYC:

driving the entire way with john. john was the best co-pilot i could ask for. he put up with my moodiness and spazz attacks. we talked about everything from music to relationships to sex. and he was the best dj ever. also he drove in to NY for me which saved my nerves and i think our lives.

we drove until 2am friday night. we were tired and dazzed and every place we stopped was full. one place had a sign welcoming a bunch of haraie christnas and muz pilots. john and i got super slap happy and came up with a bunch of songs for our made up punk band named pleather. songs such as: toxic shock syndrome, super psycho too fast truck, a deer with no eyes and many more.

stopped at a restaurant somewhere in the middle of pennsylvania named friendlys. it was weird. tons of imbred hick people with their eyes too close. the women next to us were talking about and swapping cross stitch pattners. then we went to a flea market. that was a little bit less scary. found some cool postcards.

stayed with john's friend paul. good guy. we all went out to a bar saturday night. we stayed out until 4am and got up at 7 am to move me in. weird strange surreal experience to be driving down the street in a car with all my stuff and i am sitting on john's lap as he tries to sleep and paul tries to get me to my new housing. ny is totally deserted and quiet. we are all hungover and too tired to function. probably one of my favorite memories of the trip.

moved everything in. john and paul were great. the best movers and supporters i could ask for. we went and got food later as my mind and body crashed. i wanted to cry, sleep, eat, puke and explode at the same time. finally, went back to my room and crashed.

i have been here for little less than three days and i feel good. i like it here. i know where some stuff is and i realize that all my past trips to NY have really informed me well. my living conditions are good and my neighborhood is amazing. i live on a quiet street a cross from a beautiful private park. it is a 10 minute walk to the design studio, which i went to see today. that is good too. the people i met there were nice and i got to see my cube. it is small, but it will do.

okay. the library is closing. i need to eat dinner. more to come over the next couple of weeks.
